About Us
In the past twenty-five years, James and Debbie Watts have enjoyed a life of Christian ministry. When first married, Debbie served as the worship leader and James as the assistant pastor in a Florida church. They moved to Louisiana when James attended Bible school and Debbie worked for an international ministry. Afterward, they founded and co-pastored a church for seven years. James and Debbie then accepted positions at a Florida "mega church" where Debbie assisted the Senior Pastor and James pioneered their Christian academy while serving on the pastoral staff. During this time, Debbie completed Bible training and James earned a master's degree in education. James Watts was the Administrator of the school and the Senior Assistant Pastor of the church, and he and Debbie pioneered a Bible Discipleship program for the church. In June of 2010, the Watts' followed the plan of God and they are now in full-time ministry at Watts Teaching Ministries.
James and Debbie founded Watts Teaching Ministries (WTM) with the goal of publishing books and teaching on the work of the Holy Spirit, faith, and healing. Their tandem teaching style, sense of humor, and emphasis on practical Christianity has served to edify many over the years. People are at the heart of their ministry. WTM is all about training and developing believers in their God-given call and purpose. Watts Teaching Ministries was birthed out of Debbie's cancer diagnoses in 2004. Throughout her lengthy medical treatments, James and Debbie delved into God's promises regarding healing. Embracing those promises through faith, and standing firm in their belief that Jesus defeated sickness at the Cross, Debbie has traveled the road of recovery without disappointment or fear. Today, she is cancer-free, and with James she is dedicated to the cause of fighting cancer and all diseases through the healing Covenant of God's Word. Healing is for today, and Watts Teaching Ministries is working to comfort those battling disease by providing instruction in faith and prayer for the sick.
"And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God" (1 Corinthians 2:4-5 KJV).
